Medical Status Information

Medical health Assessment

What does Migrant Medical Exam consists of? It's very straightforward:
Chest X-Ray, Urine sample, Height/Weight (BMI) check, Blood Test, simple physical check- listen to chest/back, few body movements, BP (blood pressure) check and eye check and you are done. Its quite simple actually - but if you have any preexisting medical ailment, please take reports/paperwork/X-Ray relating to that with you.
Major thing they check is HIV and TB. Apart from that - rest of checks are to see if any other major issue is there. TB is something, they give you time to cure before you move.

To check how to organize your health exam - do check Applying online Australia Visa page

Problem with Medical Link on eVisa page?
Sometimes there may be some problems with medical link; eg: Organize your health examination link missing or does not appear for one or more applicants. This technical issue sometime get resolved by itself after some hours/days. If you want to be pro-active then either you can wait to have your CO assigned and ask him to resolve this or you can also mail to this address - health.strategies@immi.gov.au with following details of each applicant facing problem:

TRN
DOB
NAME
Passport#
And mention the problem you are having!

Done with Medicals?
Status of Medical check for Australia Migration:
If you are done with your medical exam for Australian migration, then generally organize health link disappear from your eVisa page, which means that medical are received by DIAC's health group (this is just indicative and not a sure shot way to know). You can call up your clinic to know if the Medical result are uploaded/couriered.
Since the eVisa system may not be updated immediately, you can also mail to this address - health.strategies@immi.gov.au to know whats happening regarding the medicals; only if you don't have CO - if you have CO, you need to ask CO the same.

When -
It's better to do this after a week when you were done with your medicals.

How -
Drop a mail at: health.strategies@immi.gov.au
with following details of each applicant:
TRN
DOB
NAME
Passport#
And ask if medical are received and are finalised?
You would not receive any acknowledgment or auto reply but they should generally reply with in a week with answer. In few cases they don't tell the status - it's not sure why.
If you are not in luck then you case might be referred to MOC - which means additional wait for 1-3 months for your medical to get finalized; this happens when assessor at DIAC (not necessarily CO - as this can be done prior to CO assignment) is not able to make a call on your medicals and needs medical guys to take a look.

More information on Type of meds

eMeds - uploaded directly by clinic.
For onshore applicant (those who get meds done in Australia) they receive a paper copy in courier too on their Aust-address. But you can not open them until CO confirms that you can. That courier is just for you - as DIAC receives the uploaded meds from clinic itself.

Paper based - couriered by clinic itself.
Clinic should know that to where it's to be couriered if it needs confirmation it has to be sent to:
Global Health
Level 3, 26 Lee Street
Sydney NSW 2000
Australia.

  1. Is there a Link where we can check the status of Medicals ? Actually I have undergone Medical Test at Pune yesterday, now wondering where do I have to check the latest status :O

    1. Hi [I dont have a name to refer too :)]
Nope - there's no such link to tell you the status. The only way to know status of immigration medical is mentioned in this page. Either you can ask your CO - or if you don't have a CO then you can mail the said mail ID. Second method is also not a method documented by DIAC - it just works most of the times, not always!

    1. Hi Maverick,
I do NOT think that You need to fill those forms if you are using Ogranize health exam link on eVisa site. I believe they were required in earlier system.
Best way to confirm is to call up the clinic you plan to take appointment from!

  3. I have my medicals done for myself, my wife and my mother. My wife and my mother both are dependent on me. My mother had her Hepatits C reactive sometimes in 2007, but the recent reports are normal for her. Will this be an issue for my case Rejection (Class 189 visa)? I just realize that on the online system, the "Organise Health Exam" is already disappeared for me and my wife, but it still remains for my mother. Can you please advise!

    Thanks in adcance.

    1. Hi Azfar,
How long ago did you do medicals?
Generally - this link should dissappear when meds are uploaded. Did you follow up with your clinic asking if meds were uploaded for your mother? If not, do it! Even if you did - call them up again; sometimes they just tell anyone calling that meds are uploaded without even checking the system. Insist on talking to someone who's responsible for uploading.
When you are sure the meds are uploaded, then either you ask your CO if meds are recieved and finalized; and if you do not have a CO yet then follow the instructions given above to mail the team to ask them!
Given her medical condition - it may be possible that meds might be referred. But should not pose any problem to PR if she's normal now!
      Best of Luck!

    2. Hi Admin! Many thanks for our quick response. I did my medical alongwith my whole family on 15 April, 2013. Well, I have been in touch with the clinic and directly talking to the Medical nurse who uploads the medicals results online. She said that she has already uploaded my and my wife's medicals 2 days back, and uploaded my mother's medical results yesterday. But still the "Organize Health link" is displayed. The nurse told me that Hep C is still found and the LFT (Liver function test) is normal. I am really really worried now after hearing that Hep C is still there :( I just checked my mom's result 3 months back and Hep C was not found active. The clinic told me that they have graded my mother as Grade B which will go for medical referral. Can you tell me how long will it take to finalize all three medicals for me and my family? As Hep C always remains in blood (even inactive), will it be an issue for my case?

      Thanks,

      Delete
    3. Hi,
If it was uploaded just 2 days back - it should dissappear during a week - give it few days.
Am not sure if this medical condition is communicable? If not, then it should not be much problem - but am not sure here! But most probably will be referred, if referred, will take around 2-3 months to finalize!
May God forbid, if medical are not seen as fit for migration after referral - then CO should be asking you to either remove her from your application or risk getting all applicant in your applicatio be rejected a PR!
Hopefully it will not come to that!
      Keep us posted!

  4. Hi admin,

Your tips are very helpful. I have done my medical onshore and the report have been sent to me. I'm yet to get CO, so I don't know which ofice to send the medical report to. How do I go about this? Is there any particular office that I can send it to?

    1. Hey - I though I already replied to you - guess I missed, sorry!
When doing onshore meds - there are generally two copies, one is send to DIAC by clinic and other is sent to you (applicant), yours copy is asked not to be opened unless CO says so. So, usually you do NOT need to send them anywhere. You can confirm this from clinic :)
      Hope it cleared your doubt!
      Best of luck!

    2. Hi Admin,

Thanks for your response. I am not sure if the clinic has copy of my health report. I was told the result would be sent to me and that I can later send it to DIAC once i now the address to send it to.

  5. Hi admin,

please help me with my query.

My and my wife have applied for PR last year We got our case officer and she asked my wife to do her medicals offshore and it was completed and uploaded march 2013 as ehealth. Our application is paper based so we contacted the co for my wife's medical result/status.Co told us that her medicals not cleared/not in system till now.

We checked with hospital authorities and they told they had submitted medicals long back.I am guessing that her medicals could be referred since she had old TB which was cured and she has traveled to Australia as a visitor thrice till now.Her tourist visa medicals were cleared before she landed in Australia.

1.my question is why is CO not able to tell the referred date?
2.Will they ask for more additional tests this time because it is PR application ? .When she went as a tourist they did not ask her additional tests/old x rays but simply cleared her medicals.
3.Any idea on how long this might take because of this previous medical condition?

    Replies
    1. Hi [do-leave-a-name-to-refer-to-next-time] :)
      1. Sometimes this is seen that referred date is not known to CO (or due to some reason they do not share). Generally it should be within 15 days of date it reached DIAC medical team.
      2. Yes, they can ask for more test to confirm there doubts. Tourist visa, as far as I know, have low level of checking. 3 months visa is even medical test free I guess. Migration medical do maintain some standard on the other hand!
      3. Referred cases earlier were taking long time (=>3 months) till couple of months back; now they are clearing up back log fast enough. Some cases were cleared in weeks. But be prepared for 2-3 months though.
Am assuming you already tried mailing them as mentioned on this page. Hope meds gets cleared soon!
      Best of Luck!

  6. Hi,

I tried to generate the Referral letter from eVisa portal today. After clicking on "Organise your health examination" (for dependent), a blank page throws up. But this link works for me. I have completed the medicals today using my Referral letter anyways. Do i need to still complain this issue to immigration or should i leave it as such? Will this have any effect while uploading the medical results?

    Replies
    1. Hi Maverick,
So you mean you have done meds for yourself - while its pending for dependent due to link issue for him/her; or have you completed meds for both of you?

If meds were done for both, I'd suggest to call up clinic to confirm about med being loaded or not.
If dependent meds are pending then follow the procedure given in this page to mail the issue to health strategies team to resolve the issue.
      Best of luck!

    2. thanks superm...Medicals are completed for both of us...i'll check with the clinic regarding the results upload....If the results are uploaded, then this (link throwing up blank page) shouldn't be a issue, rt?

    3. Maverick,
Yes - if result are uploaded right - then I guess it should not be a problem. But did not you require any declaration form (that you get on filling up questions on medical link on eVisa page) for the meds?

Do not worry - this happens! Do you still see your organize your health link on eVisa page? This should go away within a week (this does not disappear only in very few cases). If it does not go:
      - Check with clinic again to confirm if they've really uploaded the meds.
      - Meanwhile if you get confirmation on mail - then you would know right status!
      Best of Luck!

  9. Do All Pakistani cases Get Referred???????

I hv a lil query...if anyone can comment on dat?
My Medical Centre people have confirmed about our family medical exmainations that there was absolutely nothing abnormal... every thing was perfactly normal.. Although they have refused to give us the medical reports ....as those are sent directly by them.... We did our medicals on 23rd May... My CO has confirmed that our Medicals have been refferred and I can also see the Pictures (taken in the hostpial) under Organize your health link of entire family....
BEfore going for medicals I also did the tests privately and there too it was all fine...

What could possibly be the reasons... I hv just read on DIAC website... that in case of health condition or if tests were conducted in a certain country, the medicals are referred to MOC.

Since I belong to Pakistan I was just wondering, if anyone knows about any case where someone from Pakistan got 190 VISA without Medicals being referred especially in Near Past?if Any

    1. Well, I had a similar question for my mother to a doctor who examined me for 190 Visa. He told me that if you have a track record (like hba1c tests) to prove that your sugar is controlled, then it won't be an issue. I am not sure about this though.

    2. Hey CK,
Click this link for Complete migration process in brief .

Regarding medical - you would be able to organize it only after lodging visa - DIAC has there own list of medical center - and you have to get medical check up through that only!
Click this link for Process .
This current page - at start only describes what all tests are done for medical. Any medical pre-condition can put you in referral to MOC cases.
Although, I hope it does not! Best of Luck!

  12. Hello Superm,

Medicals for myself and my wife has been referred to MOC on around 7th June 2013.

I had an 6 old case of cured TB, so I can understand that.
My wife had to undergo urine test again as the urine sample was not proper; unfortunately we didn't knew that urine sample should not be given during menstruation cycles. Though, she had given it again after 4-5 days and everything was normal then.

Now, what is the next process. We are ready to go undergo any further medical tests, but not sure when and who will ask us to do so.

Will it be our doctor who examined us ?
Will it be some email from MOC ?
    Will it be CO ?

I had asked CO, he replied me in a one liner "Follow the doctor's advice on when to do the tests."

I do not want to shoot all these questions to him, so writing it here.

    Please suggest.

  13. Hello Admin,

Mine and my wife's medicals are referred to MOC (WHATTA).
I came to know this when the CO replied to my query about my application status.
My e-medicals were transmitted from hospital on 16th May and for my wife on 20th May. (But I didn't fill out any forms to them)
When I called up the hospital, they said that mine was clear with no issues but wife had some blood cells in her excretion. It was a kind of birth ailment but it had no effects on her health as per the previous records and it was given a clean shit that the kidneys functionality are normal. In my case, I had a slightly high BP 2-3 years back but since Iam taking regular medication, it stays under control (reading 110/70 currently).
My only concern is the part where time will play.
According to your opinion, how long will it take apprx.?
I have been seeing many grants during the past few days and is it something that they want to clear the backlogs before the new rule?

My panel Doc has already submitted my wife's(main applicant) and mine(secondary) medical to immi around June 6 2013.I received mail from CO that he didn't receive my medical so I attached the receipt. Just yesterday I asked him about my medicals as I wanted to see if he received or not, then he said that " I have been advised your medical is going under assessment at Global Health".

I had jaundice in 2007 and it has been cured. I went to Aus as student in 2008. Can anyone tell me how much time it's going to take ? or is it going to be a problem for me ? Please help me on this?

    1. Hi Sagar,
Past cured Jaundice should be a no problem - was it water based jaundice? As, I too had that earlier and it was no problem, but it may well be reason for referral. Referral cases were known to take around 2-3 months - but these days they are acting fast on those - so hope for the best.
      Keep me posted!

Yes it was water based jaundice. I wasn't hospitalized, Doc told me to take rest at home and i reckon if I'm not wrong it took me almost a month to recover.

    3. Thank you Admin.

I wanted to ask you that as the CO asked me for my medical receipt I submitted mine on 3 June 2013 (Same day CO assigned). On 19 June I asked him about my medicals and he said under assessment at GLobal Health. My PCC was submitted on 26 June, so done with all the documents CO asked for.
So what do you think, which date they must have submitted to GH. I'm worried because it's going to be July 1 soon. Can it still take 2 to 3 months? or is it going to be the case that we will come under some new rule.... I'm getting stressed.. Should I mail my CO again asking him how much time or what should I do? Hope to hear from you soon

      Regards,
      Sagar

    4. Sagar,
The new rule is only for applicants who lodge their visa on or after 1st July.
Hence, you don't need to worry on that part.
My medical result was sent online by the medical center on 16th May.
And I got information from my CO on that it is referred to MOC on 19th June.
It's hard to predict when it was referred and how long will the delay be.
It varies from case to case and depends on the nature of the medical result as well.
I also emailed my CO asking the same but got no reply.
And as far as I studied upon these visa information, it would be best to question your CO twice a month to obtain good results. More frequent interaction can result in delay of your visa grant.
So like me, I would suggest that you sit tight and keep your fingers crossed.

If our Admin has something to add, he will definitely give you expert advice.

The link "Organize your Health Examination" will contain a referral letter which you need to take to the medical center to do the required tests. You may take an appointment first by mentioning your TRN or the HAP no. provided in the letter before you go to the medical center.

    1. Hi Sagar,

In my opinion, your meds are referred.
The CO may be using different terms to describe that.
But normally, the results from the medical center goto the Global Health Office from where it is auto cleared or referred to the MOC depending on the nature of the result.
So, it's a bit tricky on that part.
However, all we can do is to wait since that is our only companion right now.

    3. Hey Prem and Sagar,
This is a place where you can get and share information related to migration to Australia. So, there's absolutely no problem. In fact - these days am a bit tied up, hence a little help is appreciated :)
And - I agree with Prem on explanation given above, if you want you can straight forward ask your CO that is the medical referred or under general check. Med are generally finalized 1-2 weeks from when they are uploaded so if it has been that long then referral case might be there!
      Best of luck!

    4. Thanks Admin,

I will ask my CO within few days. Co was assigned on 3 June 2013 so if I'm not wrong they have to give answer within 5 weeks. If we count 5 weeks then it's around 8 June. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Our visa is 190 SS.

      Regards,
      Sagar.

From 3 June to 8 July is 5 weeks.

    7. Thank you Admin for the liberty you have provided.

      Sagar,

My CO was allocated on 5th June and requested some documents.
I uploaded all she requested on 10th June, but she didn't reply after that.
I requested her the status on 19th June via email and she replied the same day that my wife's and my medicals are referred.
I sent an email on 25th June to let me know if any additional documents are required in the meantime the medicals get cleared. But no response.
Today I called up my CO to know the status.
She replied that curently MOC is processing the referrals between 26th March and 20th June, and mine is falling somewhere between that period.
I enquired about my other documents and she saw them for the first time after I sent her almost a month back. So I think she must have waited for the medicals to get cleared to proceed and verify the remaining ones.
I said that in the meantime when the medicals get cleared, let me know if you need any more evidence.
So she replied that she will check all my documents and let me know by email today if anything more is required.

      Waiting~

    8. Hi Prem,

Wow I can't believe she said that. All the while I thought that once you submit they already check it. I think they have a procedure or something. I hope our medicals will get done asap. Now what's worrying me is that if they gonna ask for other documents, then that will eat up time.

Another question my friend? for secondary applicant do you think they are particular? I mean are they gonna ask for each and every document? I have already attached everything I just hope they dont ask for anything else.

      Regards,
      Sagar

      Delete
    9. Sagar,

Still it depends on the CO.
Obviously they concentrate on each document of secondary applicant.
For secondary applicant the mandatory ones are:
      1) Form 80
      2) PCC
      3) Medicals
      4) Functional English
      5) Age proof
      6) Relationship proof
      7) Passport
      6) PP photo

If you have already uploaded these, you don't need to worry.

For relationship proof, only marriage certificate won't suffice. You may have to put in supporting documents as well.
For age proof, if you don't have birth certificate, then you can include 10th marksheet.

      Delete
    10. Hi Prem,

Thank you so much for quick reply mate. Well I have uploaded everything what you have typed there. The relationship proof I dont understand, like what ? they never asked for it. Our marriage certificate is already there. There is nothing in the checklist which says relationship proof required. We attached documents according to whatever they asked for.

      Please reply my friend.

      Regards,
      Shugah

      Delete
    11. Suddenly you are Shugah!!!

Relationship proof means how the secondary applicant is related to you.
If secondary applicant is your wife, then you can submit marriage certificate and support it with some other available documents where both of your names are included.
If secondary applicant is your child, then you can submit the related proof that it is your baby, something like that.

Our Admin man is still busy in Melbourne churning the newspapers for a job prospect.

But believe me, getting a visa is nowhere difficult as to getting a job.

The tough part of your life lies ahead.

    14. Hi Prem,

Yes you are right our Admin is busy, anyways I wish him luck on his job search and hope everyone one of us have a good time.

Well it depends and to be honest with you getting a job in Aus is very easy. I'm saying this because I have lived there for almost 3.5 years. I was there as a student and even that time lot of people told me that don't go to Aus because job prospects are not good. I landed there and I got a job the 2nd day. Even as a student one is allowed to work 20 hours a week. Most of the companies over there like to hire someone who can full time, PR status, Citizen and working holiday Visa. For me it was very easy and I have seen students who don't even speak english getting job very easily.

If I'm not wrong you are a professional and it easy as well. Keep a positive mind set my friend. There are so many companies who wants to hire people. Once you get your visa it will be much more easier for you to find job.

All the best and please keep us posted about your visa result.

As obviously things depend on many factors like - your profile, demand of that, your technology combination, available people with that experties (with or without 'Australian Experience'). Well - I have started a blog about startling life in Oz - hoping I would get much time to start writing there soon as well so that people can get some knowledge from my experience! Thanks for your wishes mates - am still out hunting :)

Received my VIC SS today. Now the episode of pinch in the pocket begins.
Could you plz let me know whether I can do my PCC and medicals before paying the visa fees, say tomorrow. How will I do my PCC and medical? Is there any particular link or form to download? Should have to walk in to my local police station do the PCC? Do I have to apply for PCC for my wife and my son 3yrs (dependents) at the same time? What about medical? Same questions for medicals as well. Where will I do, what will I say to the doc? Where will I get the medical checkup list for visa? Thats it for now. Waiting eagerly for the replies.

    1. Hi Ujjal,

Man~ You are someone out of the ordinary.

It is recommendable that you pay the visa fees and then do your PCC and medical. Doing those prior to your visa application acknowledgement doesn't make sense, isn't it?
For PCC in India, please follow the below link:

      http://passportindia.gov.in/AppOnlineProject/online/pccOnlineApp

You can apply it online and collect it at the passport office, I guess. Iam just providing information based on what I have read and seen on the Expat Forum since I have no experience getting PCC in India. You may investigate further about it. PCC is required for applicants above 16 years old only. (Apart from that Form80 is also required to be filled by all applicants separately, above 16 years old)
For medicals, you can read the blog above how to do it.
Once you pay visa fees and get acknowledgement by email, you will receive your TRN (Transaction Reference Number).
You can create a PW and login to the link below:

      https://www.ecom.immi.gov.au/elp/app?login

This is the eVisa page and you can upload all your documents here, including PCC.
You will see a link "Organize Health Examinations" under all applicants.
You can go and declare your medical history and make a client declaration to retrieve your referral letter.
Check the e-Medical processing center near your place with the link below:

      http://www.immi.gov.au/contacts/overseas/i/india/panel-doctors.htm

Book an appointment, ask them to locate your TRN in their system and then visit them with 3 PP photos, Original Passport and the referral letter. The tests to be done will be mentioned in the referral letter.
Do you medicals and the results will be transmitted online to DIAC.
If your clinic is not able to transmit the results online, you may have to fill the forms: Form 26, Form160 (sometimes Form 1071i also) and take them along with you before you visit the clinic.
Wait for your CO to know your outcome.

      Good luck~
(P.S. I suggest, you read all the posts which SuperM has put up, to get first hand information before asking clarifications)

  25. Hi Superm,

You are indeed doing a great job in helping people. I too have a few concerns about medicals.

    a) What if a person is found to have slightly higher sugar levels or Triglycerides / Cholesterol levels are on border line and was not aware
or taking any medication, are there chances of Rejection on these grounds ?

    b) Should Reading Glasses / Long Distance Specks be also notified at the time of Medicals

    c) What happens if a person has High BP since 10yrs old and has no problems which have been found related to the High BP. Do you think there could be a rejection on these grounds ?

The above are some of the questions which bother me as my dependent might have these above issues. Your thoughts and opinion would really be helpful, though i am not filing my medicals with my eVISA application and wait for the CO to ask for Medicals which could be about 6 months away even though i am in the Priority List.

Thanks for your views in advance.

    Cheers!

    1. Hi Sandy,

Regarding your concerns, I would say not to worry.

      a) I recommend you to take medication before doing the visa medical tests and show them that though you have those ailments, still you have it in control through medication. Your medicals will be referred to MOC, which is again a wait for 8-10 weeks before your CO receives the result from MOC.

      b) Yes, you should notify about the glasses before your medicals and also take the glasses with you to the medical center.

      c) High BP won't be a hindrance for your visa though it will be surely referred (as in my case). I suggest to take regular pills and keep it on bay. Should also be notified to the physician at the medical center.

Medicals are mandatory and doesn't need to wait for CO's request of the same. If your secondary applicant or your medicals are referred, it should also take up much time. If you expect a delayed grant, then you may proceed as you wish.

  26. Hi Prem,

    Thanks for the encouraging reply.

However i am not on any medication for diabetic as i am a borderline case due to the fact that i am in a lifestyle job positing. Well i am sure without medication i should be able to sort myself out within 2 weeks or so. Just worried of they do a AC1 or do they do a Pre and Post test on Diabetic.

Regarding BP there are times when i do not take medication for 10 day and it stays well on the levels of 110/74 or so or some times 124 / 84.. All without medication. So i am wondering is it necessary to show them this medication or shall i let it pass.... as surely i would be testing both these before going for medical...

Regarding Glasses that is no sweat. I will let them know before i go for medicals and also carry the prescription with the numbers.

I am going to get my medicals when the CO is appointed as i am sure it will take them 5 weeks to appoint a CO to my case.

Thanks for your help... You have been great at guiding me to the right path but yet unsure about declaration. ? :( Dont want to be rejected due to such small ailments which are much in control without medication as well.

    Cheers!

    1. Hi Sandy,

I would like to say that please don't ever think of rejection.
Stay positive and your wish would be granted some day.
DIAC has no record of visa rejections for similar cases like you.
They will only request for additional tests if required.
      Coming to your post above:

If you feel that you are only on the borderline of diabetes, then no need to worry at all.

Regarding BP, I feel you don't have BP at all. You seem a normal case. So you may let it pass.

It's upto you to do medicals, but remember there are many cases where CO never contacted the client and give the grant directly if all documents were satisfactory.
In your case, the CO may contact if you didn't do the medicals of course but since it's mandatory why wait for the CO to inform you? But anyway, either way would be fine i.e, doing medicals before or after CO allocation.

      Wishing you good luck~

    1. Hi Sam,

You are in the most priority visa so you need not wait for long once your medicals are cleared.

I suggest that you call up (not email) and clarify this matter with CO, that you had sent the results twice where the doctor had given a clean chit for your old TB problem and why was it required for a third time.
Your CO is the best person to consult in this case. He/She will be able to guide you and give you the facts.

If Superm is able to throw more light on this, then well and good.

    1. Hi Sam,

In that case, please advise your agent to call up your CO and clarify this matter urgently.
The CO may have several cases to attend, so unless we call and clarify, nothing will happen at the earliest or may also lead to further complications in your visa grant.
In order to avoid that, please persuade your migration lawyer to prioritise your case.

I see you often on the Expat Forum.

Regarding your query, the statement shown is just information for you and doesn't classify whether it is referred or cleared.
The uploaded results will be sent to Global Health Office and then it may be autocleared by the system or referred to the MOC. If it was auto cleared, your CO will receive it on the E-Health status and if it was referred to MOC, it will be also intimated to your CO.
In either case, the information on the Health link on your eVisa page will not change or disappear. It will remain the same.
The only source to know the results whether cleared or referred is your CO. Please call up and check once CO contacts you.

  32. Hello Admin,

First of all, I would like to congratulate you as you are helping people in resolving their doubts and questions regarding AU PR Visa.

I have approached your forum with my following query for Visa 189.

I had completed my Medicals on 28 May,2013. The same was submitted to DIAC on 28 June 2013 as per the Information Sheet on e-visa portal under Organise your Health Exams.

Today, I noticed the link has been disappeared and the following status is mentioned.

"The health examinations required for this applicant have not yet been determined. Your case will be referred to a case officer to determine if further health is required. This page will be updated with advice regarding whether health examinations are required to be undertaken. Please note that this will not occur until a case officer investigates your case in line with published processing times for the visa that you have applied for."

I have also emailed my CO regarding the same and the reply is still awaited.

Can you please help me out on this. Let me know if you need something else on this.

I am writing this update in continuation to my yesterday post "Vineet KanwarJuly 29, 2013 at 11:09 PM" above.

But today i.e. 30 July 2013 it has changed to the following status.

  35. Hello Prem,

I cannot post in the other blog for the Admin to give me his opinion, maybe you can help me. I needed to contact DIAC and i have not email address of DIAC where in can put up my issue of not being able to Lodge the application with the current Invitation due to change in Circumstances as i would not like to claim partner points. Is there any contact details apart from the board number +61 1300364 613.

I have been trying to locate their email address as well where i can send them my problem and ask if i can file a second EOI while the current is in suspension mode. The only email address i have is adelaide.skilled.centre@immi.gov.au ., I have written to this email ID 3 days now but have not received any response so far.

Also i had called up DIAC to ask if i can File the Second EOI while the current is in Suspension Mode and they simply said you can file the second EOI and also asked me to inform the State Nomination Department about the same so that i can apply for State Nomination once again as both are linked to each other. She mentioned that State Nomination can extend or even ask you to reapply after the Second EOI has been filed and they would again nominate if there is availability.

Nevertheless it is important in my first step to connect with DIAC so that i have a written confirmation from them and so am seeking some sort of contact details. Do let me know if you have any such contact details.

    1. Hi Sandy,

The first information what I got:

You could try info@immi.gov.au - just try a gentle starter and if it doesnt bounce back then you could then launch a real query perhaps asking who you could contact by email

As a last resort you could try Skilled.Migration@immi.gov.au this is an email address on the form for skilled migrants, you may get someone who can redirect your query to the "right" person.

DIAC are not migration agents they are civil servants who process visas.
They will give standardised answers from a cut & paste. They frequently give out the wrong information. If you need professional advice speak to a registered migration agent.

In conclusion, for this query you may better contact a registered MARA agent to clear your issue.

  36. hi,

my husband and i have applied for PR under visa 189 and im a dependent on his visa and m out of australia. we applied and got a confirmation for applying for visa on the 28th of June 2013. we have not done our medicals yet as we are awaiting to be assigned for a case officer. the immi website states state a 189 visa applicant gets a CO within 4 weeks. today we complete 5 weeks.
do we undergo medicals and submit it before the case officer asks for them?
and do i need to be concerned bout the not so punctual timings of not getting a CO yet?

  37. No health examinations are required for this person for this visa subclass based on the information provided to the Department of Immigration and Citizenship.
Organize your health check link disappeard and the above info is presented at eVISA site. This means my medicals are cleared? If yes then why it is showing as 'recommended' at health evidence attachment status.

SO I have filled form 1221 for my wife and also for myself and uploaded. My question is do I need to upload FORM 80 as well for me (Main applicant) eventhough I have attached FORM 1221? Please confirm on this? Thanks in advance.

    1. Srinivasa,
These are 2 different forms. But form 80 is more or less super set of form 1221. So if you would have filled form 80 then CO would not have needed 1221. But now he might ask the same, but its upto him only - nobody can guess it.
That's why I suggest to fill up form 80 but now that you have already filled 1221, chances are quite less.. hope that helps!

  41. Dear Admin and Prem,

Indeed i agree with all, you both are doing a great job in helping people with their question and doubts to the best of your knowledge.

I received re-nomination from State as well as a second invitation for lodging my visa application. While i am Lodging my application i have come across a typical scenario for which i need help in understanding.
In CONTACT DETAIL: I am asked for Country of Residence and Residential Address.
My Country is Armenia and Residence Address is also Armenia but Since i am in a defacto relationship i have a job which has taken me to where my partner lives and i am living with her together for last 10 months and soon i am going to be transferred back to Home country which is Armenia . I am confused what address i give for Residence and Residential Address. Shall i give original Armenia Address or Current Defacto Partner Address in India. Even the same goes for Postal address, but i need that all communications be done with my partner as i am always in the travel mode.

Do let me know if you have come across this situation and what would you advise which address shall i give.

Thanks Once Again for your help.

    Regards

    1. Hi Sandy,

It again depends how long you stay in India.
For eg. if you know that you will move to Armenia in 1-2 months, you may give the contact details of your Armenian address. If it might take 6 months, then you can give the current address in India.
If you feel that you would be held up in India on a short term temporary stay and soon return to Armenia, it would be always better to give your Aremenian address.
Moreover, most of the communication from DIAC would be through email so no need to worry about the contact address.
The main reason for contact details is to establish the verification of your character background.

Good luck for your second invitation and visa application~

  43. Hi! Adrienne here.

I got a problem with the eMedical questionnare regarding health history. I answered NO in question number 3 of my daughter's questionnaire which is supposedly YES. My daughter was born premature and had to stay in the hospital for 2 months. Unfortunately I already clicked the submit button. I already filled-up Form 1023 to inform DIAC of the incorrect info that I have provided but I have no idea where to send it. I am still waiting for my CO allocation.

I wanted to go with our medicals while waiting for our CO but this mistake appears in my daughter's medical referral letter. Please advise on what I should do with the mistake I've done.

    Thanks in advance!

    1. Hey Adrienne,

      No worries.
The eMedical questionnaire is just a formality.
When you go for eMedical with your family, you may need to fill out the same questionnaire at the medical center on paper or if not, you may inform them about your wrong entry in the online form.
That won't be a problem at all!!!!
The result of your eMedicals what the medical centre sends to DIAC counts, not the answers in the questionnaire.
Form 1023 is meant for incorrect entries for wrong uploading of the documents so you may not need it in this case.
You may not need to wait for the CO, you can very well proceed with your family's eMedical.

      Good luck~

    1. hii,

High BP is common as the doctor advised and it won't be a thing to worry.
Mine was 175/120 but due to regular medication, I kept it in control at 110/70. Still I was referred but cleared.
In my opinion, 144/90 is just a borderline for hypertension and it won't pose a risk to your health assessment.
Try to exercise lightly just to keep fit instead of hard exercises.
Medicals referred is nothing but that either or both of yours and your partner's medical results will be referred by the Global Health Office to the Medical Officer of Commonwealth. He will assess your results and analyse whether they won't burden the Australian Medicare system in future owing to the nature of your health. It is a kind of further investigation of your eMedical results.
If he needs some more tests, you will be intimated by your CO.
If medicals are referred, the only source of information regarding that would be your CO only.
If your health results are cleared (most likely in your case), you will be informed and granted visa if all other requirements are met.
The only anxiety for health results is that they will take some time about 2-3 months due to large volumes of offshore referrals. Otherwise it should be fine in your case.

Stressing yourself will not help you out, so RELAX~
Wish you good luck and speedy grant~

  46. Hi
I need advise, I applied online for visa type 189 on 31st july and I could see a medical link appearing in all applicants in my application. On 22nd Aug I requested for Medical and got appointment for 2nd Sep. In my online app I provided info for eMadical for myself and my daughter, I left my wife info. Now problem is today on 30th aug these links are disappearing from all of three applicants and is written
"The health examinations required for this applicant have not yet been determined. Your case will be referred to a case officer to
determine if further health is required. This page will be updated with advice regarding whether health examinations are required
to be undertaken. Please note that this will not occur until a case officer investigates your case in line with published processing
times for the visa that you have applied for."

I am worried I need to go to clinic on monday 2nd sep and I have medical history saved against me and my daughter and my wife do not have that. Please please advise me what should I do, should I go to clinic with this info or should wait for co assigned and reschedule my appointment

    1. Hi Aamir,

You have nothing to worry about.
You don't need to wait for the CO.
You can attend the eMedical with the whole family on 02nd Sep provided you made prior appointment for you three.
Or if any member opts to do it later, it would also be fine.
Do not give much thoughts to those links.
Once CO is assigned, he/she will be able to throw you any kind of information you may need about your case.

Probably your medicals have been referred.
You many need to wait until they are cleared from the MOC.
Your CO will only be able to tell you about the status.
Once the results are received, the links on your eVisa page might change as "No health requirements are required ......."
It might take a while probably a month or two, so relax~

  49. HI Admin

I have a doubt. I just paid my visa fees yesterday. Now when I logged in again, my eVisa page is opened. I have decided to follow your instructions that I should go through with my PCC and medical before assigning of my CO. But unfortunately, the link under my name 'Organize your health examination' is missing. But instead, there is something else written -

Can you please advise what does this means?

    1. Hi Paras,

There is a possibility that the "Organize Heatlh" links will reappear again. A few applicants have experienced the same.
So you don't need to worry about that.
You can still do you eMedical with your TRN.
Make an appointment with an eMedical Center near your place and check whether they can locate your TRN in their system.
Then go ahead and do your medicals.
If the "Organize Health" links reappear in the meantime, you can print and take the referral letter with you. If not otherwise, it would be fine too.

      Good luck~

I emailed my CO yesterday and got a response from him just now. He told me that he is currently awaiting the medical finalization of my wife. however he also told me that MOC deferred my wife's medical case on 11th of may as he did not get the chest X-RAY in Dicom format:s.he also forwarded me the copy of form 884 sent by MOC for my "information/action".

Now I am confused what action should I take :s. Do I need to ask my medical centre to upload the X-RAY in desired format or CO must have already taken it directly?

    1. Hi Nabeel,

You may take the Chest X-ray one more time and inform the medical center about the format what the MOC desires.
They will then upload it in the required manner.
Then take the receipt and send it to your CO mentioning him that you have done it again.
I suggest do not wait for anything, as this process also might take some time.

I have already got an appointment for medicals of myself and family for Sep 12, but I am worried that without that link and referral letter i.e. generated, I might not be able to do my medicals:(. Please advice.
Also, IOM Karachi has asked me to bring the "Health Examination Letter/ Acknowledgement Letter from Australian High Commission" alongwith other usual passport, snaps etc. Please tell me what is this letter and where should I get that?

    1. Dear Roposh,

The Health Examination letter also called as the Referral letter can be printed out from the "Organize Health" link on your eVisa page.
But since you mentioned that the link is not visible on your page, you may either convince the Medical centre to perform the tests with just the TRN or wait for the CO to give you the HAP ID. Try in those E-Health Processing centers where they can locate the TRN on their system, then it should be sufficient to do your medicals. Otherwise take the visa application acknowledgement letter to prove that you are actually trying for Aus.

  59. Hi Prem,

I do believe that no one is replying in the other blog so i have just mentioned my concern and apprehension in this blog and hope you would be able to help me out.

I have logged in my application and now i am starting to upload documents. First of all there is no new TRN number or link sent to me to upload documents. It is after i paid the amount the next page opened where there is a link on the side upload documents. When i do that there is a drop down box which shows only the name of the Primary applicant and no other names of the spouse of dependents come up as alternatives. How do we upload their documents ?

Also i am a bit confused with the questions and uploading of the documents. I have prepared all the documents in a combined file to a maximum of 5 MB. For example Work Experience for the Last 10 years i have combined all the various Appointment letters, References, Salary Slips and Salary Certificate all under one file of all the various companies i have worked for, but in the drop down box it shows "Work Experience, Evidence of" and then we move to the next drop down box where it shows contract, Appointment Letter, Salary Slip, Others and such . Do i upload each and every document of each and every company individually ? . If i do this i will go much beyond the stipulated documents of 60 nos, lets say almost 100 nos.

I am so confused with the uploading of the documents, hope you can help me and clear my confusion.

FYI, we are a family with dependents children above 18 and have many documents of theirs as well of their dependency and they educational certifications and many other such documents.

    Looking forward to your advise.

    Thanks

    1. Hi Sandy,

Iam a bit surprised to hear your story.
How were you not provided a TRN but still able to upload docs?
Anyway, I hope you included all your family members in your application and paid the fees for them as well.
And also, regarding uploading your work experience, you may combine them (upto 5MB) and upload them under the "Work experience, Evidence of" context.
On the other hand, you also have the option to upload payslips, bank statements separately in the respective drop down menus as well. But see to that collectively, they don't exceed 60 documents.
Each applicant can upload a max of 60 so don't worry about your dependents' documents.

      1) You would have been assigned a CO but if you had uploaded all the required documents, your CO might not contact you and directly give you the grant provided the medicals and PCC and others are all cleared. CO normally notifies you by email if anything is pending.

      2) Please don't heed the links. They don't give you any subtle information of your case. The CO is the one who may be able to provide you with sufficient information.

I suggest you call DIAC and check with them, no problem.

  62. Hi Prem,

Thanks for the input on the uploads. So i guess that each applicant gets 60 documents to upload. Does it mean Primary Applicant 60 documents , Spouse 60 documents, Dependents individually 60 each. ?

I do have a TRN but this is the one thru which i lodged the application and paid the Visa fees for 4 persons (Primary, Spouse, Dependent1 and Dependent2), but yet i am still to receive and acknowledgement from DIAC on the receipt of payment. Also as it was mentioned in the other blog that after the lodging of the application and payment of fees they would send me another TRN and an link wherein i have to upload documents, i have not yet received the same. I am rather confused.

The confusion persist as i called up the Health Center and they asked me my TRN which i gave them they said that my TRN which i used for Lodging the application is not reflecting on their system.

    1. Hi Sandy,

Yes as per the DIAC website,

The following table details the maximum number, size and allowable formats of files you are able to attach to the eVisa system:

      Form type : GSM applicant
Maximum number of files : 60
Maximum size each file : 5MB
Formats : .DOC, .DOCX, .DOT, .XLS, .PPT, .RTF ,.TXT, .GIF, .JPG , .BMP, .PDF

This, in my opinion is for one applicant but Iam not pretty sure.
Normally after the visa payment fee is acknowledged, we receive the TRN. But when you mentioned about the one through which you lodged your visa application, I guess it might be the EOI no, anyway just my guess and I might be wrong.
Please wait for the acknowledgement and start uploading your documents.
I have observed some people getting delayed to receive the acknowledgment but if you feel it is taking long, please call the DIAC and check.

If your medicals are auto cleared, then you can expect a grant soon, won't take long.
But if it was referred, then it may take 2-3 months.
You can expect a CO allocation in 5-8 weeks of lodgement but if you front load all documents, then the CO might not contact you but give you the grant directly. If CO needs more evidence, then he/she will contact you by email.

    2. 1. Iam not pretty sure about the health complications you hold. But the worst is that you may be referred to MOC and that indicates a delay of 1-2 months depending on the number of offshore referrals. So if everything's fine, please do your health ASAP to avoid delay.

      2. You can get the PCC from your native place where you were issued the passport. The Passport Seva Kendra will be able to provide you that. There are negligible chances that the CO will ever notice it.

    3. Thanks Prem for your response. Regarding PCC , I read in other forums that some people have faced the same problem as Aamir in above case. I have not seen any PCC, but I understand that it is valid for whole country & contain the country name for which it has been issued & not written anything like this is verified for last 10 yr or so.. but what should be done if CO asked PCC for last 10 yrs? Should I go to each & every police station/PSK, where I have resided in past 10 yrs & collect the clearance? I think 2 PSK will not issue the PCC for the same person at the same time. Also if my & my partner's PCC issued from different PSK, will this be an issue for CO? I am very confused please guide me.Its urgent. Thanks.

    4. Let me explain.
The DIAC requires PCC for all the "countries" where you had resided for 12 months or more cumulatively during the past 10 years.
It means you need to add up all the period you were in any country even if it were for short vacation or whatever purpose.
So when we talk about country, it would be just India in your case so you will need just one PCC (if you hadn't resided in any other country)
The best would be to get it at the PSK where you had received your passport, otherwise you may also take it from the PSK at your current location.
It doesn't matter if your partner's PCC would be from a different PSK if he/she had received passport from that particular one or you can take it at from the PSK at your current location.
Upload them in the Document Type field under "Overseas Police Clearance - State/Local".

    1. Yes, It would be much better to be honest with your medical history.
It will help you to speed up your medical process.

  66. Applying for migration, but with my appication also having my mum on it as a dependant

she is 76, had a masectomy left breast last year but is fine/no meds and had a hysterectomy back in 2006/7 - again fine. Apart from that she has a calcium supplements.

Is your advice she would get through the med check ok?

    1. Hi Kenyan,

If your mother is not migrating along with you, then you may remove her from non-migrating dependant.
The reason is if your mother's medicals fail for some reason, then there are high chances that your visa grant may get affected due to that.

In other case, if your mother is migrating with you, then I think she will clear the medicals but there are slight chances that it may be referred to MOC which is a wait for 1-2 months more.

    3. Hi Chinnu,

      Nothing to worry about.
You can expect your case to be referred to MOC in the worst scenario.
That would mean a delay of 2-3 months.
      Otherwise it is fine.

    4. Thanks Prem,

Its quite frustrating, I never had any health issue and now stuck for another 2-3 months. All plans failed.
Lets see what happens, I have uploaded all the required docs and done form my side. Keeping finger crossed and hoping for the best to happen asap.

      Cheers

    5. Hi Chinnu,
I meant that time period in the worst case.
But in actuals, it may be a lot earlier too.
So don't lose hope, you will get the grant soon.

  67. Dear Admin/Prem,

I am waiting for DIAC outcome on 189, PR-Visa. I lodged my and my wife’s application in DIAC on 20th July 2013. I completed medical tests by 22nd July’13 and submitted the receipts online on 27-July’13.
It has been close to 2 months or 69 days since I lodged DIAC application. No case officer has been assigned, so I am requesting some help through this channel.
My agent asked me to check for medical as it is still not through. I checked with the doctor, she said medical results have been uploaded. When I log in to DIAC site, it shows medical is pending for myself because I can see the link – “Organise your health examinations”. Link has not disappeared.
For my spouse the medical is through, I can see – “No health examinations are required for this person for this visa subclass based on the information provided to the Department of Immigration and Citizenship.” The earlier link - “Organise your health examinations” has disappeared.
Please let me know if I should mail someone or wait.

    Thanks in advance!

    Best regards,

Somehow the link status changed. I can see – “No health examinations are required for this person for this visa subclass based on the information provided to the Department of Immigration and Citizenship.” The earlier link - “Organise your health examinations” has disappeared.

Still waiting for CO to be assigned. Around 10 weeks wait now. :)

    1. Hi Red,
      That's great news!
      Seems your medicals are cleared.
But still you need to wait to hear from CO if he/she needs any additional documents.
10 weeks wait is normal, no need to worry about that.
If all your documents are satisfactory, you may expect a direct visa grant.
      All the best~

    2. Thanks a million for the reply Prem. You and Admin are doing a really awesome job!
One more question, these days is it common - A CO being assigned after 10 weeks?
As for 189- priority group 4, the average time is within 8 weeks for CO allocation.

      Delete
    3. Hi Red,

A CO will be assigned to every individual case.
The time frame will fall within the max of 8 weeks as mentioned on the website except for unlikely situations like holidays, transfers etc.
You will be contacted only when the CO needs any additional document or pending documents.
Otherwise, if the CO is fully satisfied with all your submission including your cleared medicals as well as the PCC, then you may never be contacted by the CO, instead receive a direct grant in your email.
      I hope you understood.

  70. Dear Admin and Prem Kumar,

I am just wondering if you could guide me on the following issue.

We have done our medical on Tuesday 24th Sep 2013 and uploaded on 25th Sep 2013 (checked with clinic).

However mine X-ray is graded B but my wife's medical are clear, but the 'Organize your health check' link stll appears under our application.

What should I do in this regard
    Please advice

    1. Hi Chinnu,

You have nothing to do in this but wait for your CO to throw you some light on your medical status.
The clinic must have updated that you are graded B but your wife is cleared.
But these results will be sent to Global Health in Australia who will really classify them whether to auto clear or refer to the MOC.
For eg., in my case, mine and my spouse's medicals were cleared at the clinic but still we were referred to the MOC.
So please have patience and wait for the results from your CO who is the only source where you get information about the status of your's and your family's medicals.
Don't give much thoughts to the links.

  71. Dear Admin, Prem,

I had my medical done on 25th Sep 2013, on 27th Sep I had to do an additional blood test. When I look at the e-medical information sheet, I see status of two tests as "Referred" and Status of Medical Examination as "InComplete". Exam status for X-Ray shows as "Complete". Can you provide some information regarding this status? Does it mean that the test center has not forwarded the test results to DIAC?

I do not see "Organise your health examinations" link for the dependednts

    1. Hi PS,

As Prince commented, you may persuade the clinic to upload your results again.
The status on the information sheet should respond positively to your results submission.

I had the same. You have to keep calling the clinic for them to do so or else they won't do it.They are so slack

  73. Hi ,
I applied for visitor visa sub class 600 and on oct 4th I received a letter with hap id to undergo medical test.
I booked my appointment on 8th oct and then filled my medical history in emedical. Accidently my browser crashed and I submitted the results without filling medical information. Now in my referral letter all answers to given questions appear as - .

Since this letter has submitted to Diac will this be a problem ?
Do I need to inform this to panel doctor?
I have already informed this to AU embassy in my country from where I got the medical invitation mail.

    Please help.

I submitted paper basd visa application from sri lanka.

    1. Hi,

The medical information which you fill online on your medical history sheet is just a formality.
When you book an appointment and goto the e-Medical centre, you may inform them about this and they will provide you with a paper sheet containing the same medical history which you can fill in at the centre.

The DIAC will only consider the results of your medical tests conducted by the centre so do not give much thoughts to the online medical history even before the tests are conducted.

  74. Dear Admin / Prem

We are from outside Australia, Myself and my husband ( primary applicant ) and kid had applied for PR under 186 ENS visa. He had received the offer letter from the employer on Feb 10 2013, hopefully skill assessment has been completed. He has submitted the IELTS GT result to the employer on 23 Sep 2013. We had not received the visa acknowledgement letter yet.

Q1 ) How long it will take to get the visa acknowledgement letter ?
Q2 ) Post receiving the visa acknowledgement letter what is the next process ?
Q3 ) Should we apply for PCC both of us or primary applicant ?
Q4 ) We have not done our medicals yet as we are awaiting to be assigned for a case officer.
Q5 ) Do we ( myself, husband and kid ) should undergo medicals and submit it before the case officer asks for it.
Q6 ) Approximately from the current situation how long it will take to get the Visa Grant.

Except IELTS result all notary attested relevant documents has been submitted on 10 Feb 2013, IELTS result submitted on 23 Sep 2013.

Request your advice on the above queries

    Thanks and regards

    1. Hi Jyothi,

I do not have much information about the process of applying for 186 ENS visa but still will try to answer the common queries. Which stream are you applying through - Direct Entry Stream or Agreement Stream?

A1) I don't know what is meant by Visa "Acknowledgement" Letter but I suppose it's some kind of invitation to apply after IELTS & Skills assessment are done.

A2) You should provide the DIAC with enough evidence to support your claims for IELTS, Skills assessment, Health, Character etc.

A3) PCC should be done for all applicants aged above 16 individually.

A4) If DIAC provides you with a TRN (Transaction Reference Number), you may proceed with your e-Medical.

A5) All applicants can undergo and complete the medical tests even before the CO asks or can do it after also. (Doing it prior may save time if at all it gets referred)

A6) It might apprx take 1-2 months to receive your visa grant once the Visa Acknowledgement letter is received and applied.

I have put in my answers to the best of my knowledge based on the information fromt the Skillselect website but you may refer your queries at a different source also.
      Good luck~

  75. Importantly, 75 per cent of eHealth cases are then able to be auto-cleared with no manual intervention. Furthermore, the remaining 25 per cent are processed within 48 hours by the department's Global Health processing centre – with the majority processed and finalised in minutes.
