EOI - Expression Of Interest

My EOI was kind of EOHI - Expression Of 'High' Interest :-) - jokes apart; this is one cool thing that DIAC has introduced in this year's process. When I was done with two basic building blocks - do I need to repeat? - okay I mean IELTS and ACS- were done away with. Earlier I thought these to be main obstacles in the path of PR but later this thought somehow went diminished. Anyhow - as mentioned I got ACS results ("positive result" - yeehaaa...) on 3rd Dec IST morning (Noon by Australian Time). Although I knew that invitations were sent out on 3rd Dec round and now I have to wait till 17th Dec to get the invite (knowing too well that having 65 points will fetch me immediate invite) - I still immediately lodged my EOI hoping that the system might have one two pending invites to be sent out, lolz :)!

One piece of advice here (if it did not strike your mind yet..) - If you are in similar stage then have your EOI already filled out and in saved state with all the information you have; you might be having IELTS pending or ACS pending - so as soon as your result of the last of these come out - you fill that and submit your EOI - as this is first come first serve based queue if your points clashes. More working on EOI will on one of the pages - I plan to write out soon.

Now - it was a wait of 2 weeks - on 16th evening (= Australian midnight when 17th starts); I should be getting invite. I can NOT explain how dead slow these couple of weeks went by. Remember how I said that IELTS and ACS were only obtacles that we have to cross - atleast those obstacles had something where we could work upon like preparing for IELTS and giving exam; for ACS - preparing documents and letters. But, here - it was just WAIT!

Finally much awaited evening came (of 16th in India) - and along started 17th in Australian (this different time zones is sometimes funny and confusing) - here I was refreshing my EOI page and also checking up my mail account for we receive invitation in mail and on the EOI page too. And, then 'it' happened - no, not the invitation; "error" - error came in EOI page, kind of expected with lots of people attacking it at the same time but it was not what I wanted to see - I logged in again making a face :-( and I see 'it' - yes this time 'it' was "invite" - yayy :-)! I don't know why I was so happy - as it was very much expected to get an invite with 65 points, but I was; and seeing me so happy my family was even more excited. Wonder on the way these emotions work.

Next and final step - Applying PR!

    1. Hi Sanaa,
Am good - thanks for asking :) Hope you are doing good too!
For EOI - you just need to fill in the information like refernce number of skill assessment, TRF number of IELTS. Reference number will be there on your fax copy as well! So you would be good!
You are NOT required to upload any documents as such in EOI. Uploading part will be required when you apply visa after getting invite.
I would suggest to start filling EOI - you can have it in saved format - it will not be submitted unless you submit it. So by doing that you will know what all is required in EOI.
      Best of Luck!

  2. Thanks for your reply. I need your advice on my next question as well. I got fax copy of my vetassess result. i have given exp of 10 years but vetassess has given positive result only for one employment that is close to 2.8 years only. does this affect my next stages of processing. they have given that they could not give positive assessment on the further years of experience including current employment. Also , can i not claim points for my employment ,if that being the case, i cant reach 60 points. please advise.

    1. Sorry about that.
Am afraid that you can only claim points on the experience that has positive assessment. Meaning you would get points only for those experience which has been assessed positively.
But do you know what went wrong with assessment?

      Delete
  3. for even claiming 5 points i need to have atleast 3 years.. but the positive assessment which is got is just 2.8 yrs / can i claim points on that .

    they have replied me as

tasks undertaken are not closely related to the nominated occupation

there are serious integrity concerns about the employment claims.

please advice can i go for reappeal or reassessment..

currently without considering the employment points - its 55, but if i get 8 in ielts - then i can get 65 points. so please advice, cani proceed with EOI or DIAC will give importance to the comment given above.. im really worried.

    1. 1. I don't think re-appeal would work if you provide same set of documents again. If you intend to add on something then it might help.
      2. If you can get min 8 in IELTS then you would be good in terms of points but you need to have those min 8 score in IELTS before you can submit EOI.
      3. With 2.8, you can not claim those 5 points and hence would not be eligible for 189. Although you can try from 190 as State sponsorship would provide 5 points.

    2. Also - sometimes assessing authority suggests a different anzsco code to have your skills assessed against; did that happen in your case?

  4. i am happy that i get a way from your answer.
i will try to get IELTS 8 ,

if i get 8 band in ielts, then i would be 65 ..but still do i require SS
also, for SS, only one state has listed my occupation, is it possible i get sponsor ship...
Also, assessing authority has not suggested any other occupation.

    1. Hey Sanaa, that's good!
Also - if your ANZSCO code lie on SOL list then you can go for 189 (hence don't need SS)
If your ANZSCO is not in SOL list but on CSOL list then you can not go for 189 and have to go for 190 (hence require SS)

my ANZSCO code is listed in CSOL list also ,for SS, only in SA. 221214 -
if i get a SS, i can work only in SA right ?pl advise.

    1. Your welcome Sanaa!
      1. If you get PR through SS - you need to work for first 2 years in that particular state. After those initial 2 years, you are free to work any where in Australia.
      2. I see that your code: 221214 is also in SOL list so you can apply 189 and 190 both. If you complete 60 points. Otherwise, 190 is the only option!

  6. In the nutshell,

    Age - 30 points, IELTS : 10/20 - education - 15 - 55/65 points
so, if i get ielts 10- intotal 55 points - can i still apply EOI with SS

    or if i get ielts - 20 , i can still apply for 189 or 190..

in either cases, DIAC will consider my experience if i tick in EOI eventhough i got negative assessment

    Please advice

    1. 1. If you get IELTS = 7, you can go for SS - hence 190 only.
      2. If you get IELTS = 8, you can go for 189 and 190 both.
As you have only 2.8 years of experience assessed, which I believe do not fetch any points - hence no use using the experience!
Also, are you single applicant? Do you have a spouse through which you can fetch spouse points? He would need to undergo assessment and IELTS though.

      Delete
  7. No iam a single applicant.

So,if i get ielts -7 i can take SS, the site is so confusing that not able to know, if they also require a minimum years of experience, generally they have mentioned that

"To be eligible for South Australian Government state nomination applicants must have been assessed by the relevant skills assessing authority, have met all the threshold requirements for nomination including the minimum English Language requirements detailed by the skills assessing authority and any other additional requirements as detailed by Immigration SA" .

but in DIAC for my occupation, they asked for highly skilled qualification but not experience..

So, will there be any problem if i submit an EOI for SS.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Nope - you should be good if its not explicitly mentioned that you require experience!

      Delete
  8. Applicant’s nominated occupation must be evidenced by a positive and current Skills Assessment from the relevant skills assessing authority as listed at www.immi.gov.au/asri. Copies of qualifications or certificates in lieu of a positive Skills assessment will not be accepted.

  9. i need your valuable advice i am eligible to apply in SA, but it states
221214 Internal Auditor Off-list criteria applies IELTS 7.0 in each band plus 3 yrs work experience in field

i have relevant experience, but Vetassess has only assessed 2yrs as relevant.. in this case, if want to apply for EOI under SS can i apply ..

    1. Hi Sanaa,
      Hope you are doing well.
If it needs you to have 3 year+ experience then I don't think you will satisfy that with only 2+ years assessed. Generally the counted experience is only the assessed one.
Sorry about that - now if the application is free then you can try going for it, just in case they do their own findings - but that has quite low chances.
      Best of Luck Sanaa!

    1. Hi Sanaa,
They should have asked for the same while assessing only. Anyways, if they say that is the reason and you can fulfil this requirement now - then you should be good with re-assessment. To confirm, ask them if this is the 'only' thing that needs to be added if you put for re-assessment for +ve reply!
If they confirm (and they should), then you are 100% sure; if they say 'they can not comment until they evaluate or somethinge like that' - then you might have to take chance, but chances are good!

  12. Thanks always for prompt reply..Actually they told me this is the reason, which we could not assess on your case, also they said , they cannot confirm me if i would get a positive assessment on the same.it all depends on the evidence i provide it seems. also in the outcome letter, they have mentioned that the case is not positive due to integrity issue. now, pl advise how to proceed.

  13. indeed they asked my employer (reference) to provide written confirmation, but she refused.

    1. See - in Assessment MAIN thing is written confirmation from your employer - that defines your integerity that you are what you say you are.
Basically - you should be good if you get that; as it was the only thing that they required I assume which you were not able to provide!
I believe, you would have +ve result with that missing piece, but offcourse I can not confirm on that - its just what I believe from my experience!
Final call is yours. But I'd say, I'd have gone for it if I were you! Just keep in mind to read all their requirement again and tick all the things you have, re-confirm everything!
      Best of luck!

  14. thanks again, i will once again ring Vetassess and confirm the exact requirement.in the current situation, i cant get reference from my current manager in co's letter head, but i can get in a plain paper -with his signature.. does this suffice

    Replies
    1. Sanaa,
It would be better, if you ask the same while you ring them.
Best is to get it on letter head.
Alternate is to get it on Stamp paper signed by you, manager and notary!
Another alternate is to get it on plain paper signed by you, manager and notary!
This is what ACS accepts and should be the same by Vetasses - confirm this when on call.

    1. Hi - when did you submit the EOI?
Ceiling has not been reached yet I guess - as per the skill select page:
Software and Applications Programmers (4171 of 5160)
You might have a chance depending on the number of applicants.
Am assuming that you have applied for 189 Visa. Let us know how it went!

    2. Thanks for your response. I have submitted 189 with EOI - 60 points with updated date as 17th April and again edited EOI to select 190 - 65 points with updated eoi date as 23 April. Today skill select report is refreshed , looks like upto 13th April with 60 points selected for 189 and left with Software and Applications Programmers (4567 of 5160). Not sure choosing 190 of any help.. should i keep 190 ? Really hoping for my luck with 6th May round for 189 .. wish me more luck !!

    3. Hi,
You should get invited in next 189 round.
Selecting 190 as additional would neither help nor hinder 189 invite. But when you select 190 - it will only be helpful if you apply for state sponsorship also, otherwise its just nothing. Well - I think you would not need 190.
Let you EOI as it is now, as long as you have 189 also selected in your EOI and EOI is submitted then you should get invite in next round! Keep me updated.
      Best of Luck!

  16. Hi,
I applied for skill assessment of System Analyst and the assessment was positive but they reduced 4 years of experience from Actual experience (11 Years). Hence the assessment result has indicated as below:
The following employment after April 2006 is considered to equate to work at an appropriately skilled level and relevant to 261112 (System Analyst) of the ANZSCO Code.

Note: First experience started at 04/2002 as System Analyst.

My question is that why have they reduced my relevant experience by 4 years?

I appreciate your answers in advance.

    1. Hi Rajesh,
      Please mention:
      - Different employment periods.
      - These 4 years that are reduced were a separate employment.

      Generally the reasons may be:
      - Employment rejected was not relating to ANZSCO code mentioned.
      - Employment proof were not enough (document related to roles and responsibilities and related things)

Many thanks for you post. I want to ask one question.
I intent to submit EOI - Nominated or Sponsored (Provisional) (subclass 489) visa. I wonder if my relatives have to prepare any document in this stage or I just give the evidence when they invite me to apply for skill select.

  20. Hi,
    Hope you are doing well.
I am applying to australia under silled nomination.
And I have two questions please:
    1. Will the EOI get rejected if ILETS TRF number is wrong?
    2. Can I make two separate EOI to the same state?

    Thanks & Regards

  21. I have already submitted my EOI, thinking that I have got positive assessment letter from ACS. After few days, I observed clearly that the ACS has considered only 4 years and 10 months of my experience for skilled assessment.

Luckily, I am still working in the same skill, so I applied review from ACS, to consider my recent experience.

Now, my question is, since I have already submitted EOI with Old ACS reference number. Do i need to cancel the EOI and submit new EOI after getting review result. Or Keep the EOI and update when ever review results arrive.

I ready in some forum, that the skilled assessment should have an earlier date than EOI application submission date. In that case, if I update my review assessment details in the EOI will that be a problem?

  22. Hello Admin,

Excellent work, Keep up the good work. You Documentation is very clear and perfect. God Bless

Can you answer these queries for me please:

    1. I have already started filling up my EOI 3 months back - but have not done my IELTS and SA, so haven't submitted EOI yet. In this case tell me EOI is valid for 2 years from the date of submission or the 2 years is counted just after a login is created / data is entered in EOI (without submission of EOI)

    2. My skill is listed in SOL and my partner's is in CSOL. If I would wish to claim point for my partner , then
    a. Can I go for 190 visa?
    b. IELTs for my partner with 6.5 is mandatory / just a certificate indicating his medium of instruction was English in the last degree he obtained is sufficient?

    3. My skill is ICT Business Analyst. Generally ceiling is always reached as I see. Please advise/suggest me as to
    a. when (which month- july 2014 / any month from now) is it best to apply for an EOI and wait for invite?
    b. Without state sponsor / my partner skill assessment, Im able to score 60. With ICT Business analysts always reaching the ceiling these days, would you advise me to go for more points and then present an EOI or shall I just go with this 60 points?
    c. I understand that,if I go with 60 points,I might get an invite for sure, but shall get it very late (is my understanding right?). If late how late shall I get the invite, if I go with this 60 points?

    Thanks

  23. Hi
I am trying for 189 visa and have 60 points.
    I have few questions:
    1) I have applied for Skill Assessment in January,2014 and as per immigration website average processing time for skill assessment is 16 weeks.Does it really take 16 weeks to complete?????
    2) Also I want to ask what is the best time to go for PCC and Medicals.Should i got for it before getting the result of Skill Assessment. Will it effect anything except Maximum Entry Date(MED) as i am planning to go there within 2 3 months after getting my PR??
    3) Also Please guide me related to my PCC.I am presently residing in Jabalpur,Madhya Pradesh with my wife as i am working here but address in my passport is of haryana which is my hometown. So,At which Passport Seva Kendra(Madhya Pradesh or Haryana) i have to go to for my PCC and how much time it takes to get PCC after visiting Passport Seva Kendra in India as in your case.
    4) I dont have my spouse name in my passport as it is made much before my marriage. So, does it is required to add my spouse name in my passport.
    5) My wife has my surname in her passport as it was made after marriage but in all her documents she has surname of her parents which was used before marriage. Does it effect anything in the process.

    Please Reply

    Thanks

  24. Hi Team,

Got a negative outcome for Skills Assessment from Vetassess for Medical Administrator. I can get sponsorship for state govt. My qualification was assessed as relevant, but experience not highly relevant, even though it was aligned to what they expect. The reason mentioned was that I do not have enough experience and only doctors with lots of experience become MAs, not freshers (I just had 3.1 years). Can I still lodge EOI with negative assessment if I have enough points with sponsorship?

NSW is closed for 190 currently.
